Newest Industry Presents - Flatbasset Radio: Episode #42

You need proof? Get brandy...

Hello, podcast fans!  Welcome to Flatbasset Radio: Episode #42!

For those of you who are unaware of the Flatbasset Radio format, here's what you're looking at: TCDroogsma is our resident MP3 junkie. As you've probably noticed in his Songs Of The Week column, he's not always the most positive music fan. In an effort to prove that he is, in fact, a fan of music, we give him an hour each week to play the songs he's digging and talk a little bit about them. Once he's recorded his podcast we put it right here on the website for free to stream and/or download!

TCDroogsma is back flyin' solo for Episode #42.  In this week's show he explains why he's solo, plays a request from one of his regular listeners, declares Purple Rain one of God's favorite albums, explains Flatbasset Radio's DTS policy, discusses the breakout star of the 10K Sounds Festival, struggles to read, laments the passing of the last original Ramone, celebrates one of hip-hop's great hooks, indulges in one of his all-time favorite "summer bands," and talks about his favorite concert ever.  All that plus the Cover Of The Week and the Flatbasset Flatclassic!

You can download the podcast for free by clicking the episode's title or stream the episode by clicking on the Mixcloud player below.

Newest Industry Presents - Flatbasset Radio: Episode #41 (Young Sandwich's USB Mix)

I do it fluid 'til the brothers get dizzy...

Hello, podcast fans!  Welcome to Flatbasset Radio: Episode #41 (Young Sandwich's USB Mix)!

For those of you who are regular listeners to the Flatbasset Radio show, Episode #41 is a bit of a left turn.  We'll let TCDroogsma explain:

"If you've been listening to the show at all in the past couple of months, you may have noticed that I've taken to asking for requests.  So far I've only received requests from one person: my buddy Nick (aka Young Sandwich aka Ghostface Filla aka Nicky Bro-zone aka Gary Fly-etti).

Anyway, Nick and I were talking about music one day.  Now, Nick & I don't see eye to eye on a lot of things.  He doesn't see the brilliance of Sugar Ray.  For reasons I don't totally understand, he thinks Jimi Hendrix is better than Drake.  I'm actually getting kind of worried that he's stalking Neil Young.  He's a curious fellow.  However, he's kept an open mind while slogging through the Flatbasset Radio show, so I figured the least I could do was return the favor.

In an effort to defend his own musical taste as well as expand mine, he brought in a USB drive filled with 17 songs that he thought I should check out.  Well, rather than just checking them out I took some time to sort through them, re-order them for maximum enjoyment, & assemble the whole thing as a podcast.  Turns out Nicky has put together an outstanding summer mix.

So, for those of you expecting another week of Phatnumber's beats, my obscenity-laden rambling, and MinneSarah's midwestern charm... Sorry.  Those things will all be back in full force next week.  Until then, put some burgers on the grill, pour some vodka in your lemonade, and give Nick's mix a spin!"
