Ten & Six With Mike Otto - Week 3 (Thursday Bonus!)

Goo, goo, g'joob...

Well hello again, football fans! Welcome to Ten & Six's Week 3 Kickoff!

For those of us who are fans of The Purple these first couple weeks of the season haven't gone particularly well, but Mike will have more on that come Saturday.  Right now we're going to jump into Week 3 of the season by having Mike make his pick for tonight's Chiefs & Eagles game in Philadelphia.

Who's taking the W, Mikey?

Kansas City (2-0) at Philadelphia (1-1)

Free Andy 2: The Walrus Travels Home! Sounds like a nice spin on the Free Willy series, doesn't it? I can just see Andy Reid launching out of the water, soaring majestically over those rocks, as a young Jason James Richter's fingers delicately graze his belly.

Ehh, its not realistic though. We all know the only reason Andy Reid would "soar" over anything was if there was a bucket of chicken on the other side. This is going to be an interesting game, terrible Hollywood spin-offs aside.

I don't think the Chiefs have the firepower to hang with the Eagles. Unless Andy Reid can find a way to slow the game down, (entering the game as a linebacker isn't allowed) the Eagles will run away with this one.

DeSean Jackson is back to his best water-bugging self out there and Michael Vick throws a damn pretty ball when he is on. However, I am respectfully requesting that Chip Kelly wipe that fucking look off his face.

Final Score:
Kansas City: 21
Philadelphia: 34

There you have it, football fans!  The Eagles ruin Andy Reid's homecoming by taking the W, making Eagles fans everywhere temporarily forget all the sadness that comes with being an Eagles fan.

Ten & Six With Mike Otto - Week 15 (Thursday Bonus!)

Everybody, touch that illa-fifth dynamite...

Well hello again, football fans!  Welcome back to Ten & Six!

Week 15 is upon us and the playoff race is really ramping up.  Fortunately Mike Otto's been guiding us along the whole season and is finally hitting his late-season stride.

Tonight's matchup features two of the more shame-filled franchises in the history of the NFL, with the Cincinnati Bengals visiting the City Of Bro Love, Philadelphia.

Michael, thoughts?

Cincinnati (7-6) at Philadelphia (4-9)

The Bengals are coming off a heart-breaking loss on a last second field goal to the Cowboys. Really though, it's the Bengals, would it feel right if it had happened any other way?

As they have so many times in the past, the guys with tiger stripes on their helmets scratched and clawed to put themselves in the position they desired only to have it ripped away once the game clock read 00:00. I feel for Cincy fans. Being a card-carrying member of the Purple Covenant since I was little, I know just how much heart-breaking losses in big games you should win can hurt. One day we'll have a Vikings-Bengals Superbowl and it will be the first instance in NFL history where both teams somehow lose. Hooray for much-maligned franchises!!

Speaking of maligned franchises, The Eagles are also coming off a down-to-the-wire win in which rookie QB Nick Foles went 31-52 for 381 yards and 3 total TD's (including the game winner with 2 seconds left). Nice performance from the kid, still not buying it though. Bengals bounce back and get a win 26-23.

There you have it, football fans.  Straight from the tiger's mouth.

As always a big thank you to Mike for stopping by.  He'll be back this Saturday to make his picks for the rest of the league and to give us his breakdown of this week's Vikings/Rams tilt.

For more of Mike Otto be sure to give him a follow on Twitter (@SwervinTaters).  He rants about football, homeless people, televised football, quarterbacks who used to be homeless people... it's a treat.
