Ten & Six With Mike Otto: Divisional Playoffs Weekend

So here we are again...

Well hello again, football fans!  Welcome back to Ten & Six With Mike Otto!

Sadly, their will be no Vikings coverage for the next few weeks.  Unless, of course, someone gets arrested or annuls a marriage.  That doesn't mean Mike Otto isn'st still thinking thoughts.  Football thoughts.

So, we press on, purple or no purple.

Mike, what are we looking for this weekend?

Welcome back to Ten & Six!

The Vikings' season came to an unceremonious end last weekend and even though it was a great year, I can't help but think there could have been more.  Christian Ponder's badly bruised elbow/tricep prevented him from playing, leaving backup QB Joe Webb completely overwhelmed.

Joe Webb is one heck of an athlete, no doubt about that, but his accuracy and pocket presence as a passer is downright pathetic.  At least all the, "Why isn't Joe Webb starting?" people got an answer to their question.  At this point he is nowhere near a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Now, do I think the Vikings win that game if Christian Ponder starts?  Probably not, but it would have been close until the end.

I will completely break down the Vikings season after the Super Bowl, but for now I'm going ot try to improve on that 1-3 playoff record from last weekend. 1-3? Yuck!

(#4) Baltimore at (#1) Denver

Why the Ravens could win:

The Ray Lewis Farewell Tour!  His teammates want to give him a goodbye ring.

The Broncos played in a garbage division all year and didn't have to play good teams on a consistent basis.

Really, that's about it.  No real reasons Joe Flacco can win this game.

Why the Broncos could win:

They have the Peytie Manny.

They have one of the most complete defenses in football.

Joe Flacco will fuck this up.  One playoff win per year is pretty much his limit.

Who I think takes it:

Too much going against the Ravens in this one.  I think Peytie is going to take the Broncos to the Super Bowl this year.  This game is only close for two quarters.  Broncos win 27-13.

(#3) Green Bay at (#2) San Francisco

Why the Packers could win:

Colin Kaepernick could have the jitters.  Two months ago he was the backup quarterback.  Now he's going to start a playoff game with everything on the line.

The also have playoff-tested Aaron Rodgers, and one thing's for sure, he won't be cracking under the pressure Saturday night.

Why the 49ers could win:

Their defense is big and physical.  When they get rolling... wooo boy!  Watch out!

They have the power of Moss on their side.  We all know how much Randy loves sticking it to the Pack.

Dear Randy,

Make every sad Vikings fan's day, get your first two touchdown game since 2009 and knock the Pack out!  For 'Sota!

Love always,

Spiteful, bitter Vikings fans everywhere.

Who I think takes it:

It's all going to come down to how Colin Kaepernick performs.  If the kid can handle the pressure, it's curtains for the Packers.  Unfortunately, I see this moment being a little too big for the young QB.

Close game throughout, but Aaron Rodgers ices it in the 4th with on of those Aaron Rodgers-type drives that leaves a good defense looking pedestrian.  Packers win 31-24.  Fuck.

 (#5) Seattle at (#1) Atlanta

Why the Seahawks could win:

It's Matt Ryan.  It's a divisional playoff game at home.  Sound familiar?

The Falcons never convinced me of their toughness this year and, compared to the physicality of the Seahawks, they look downright soft.

The Seahawks have a much better running game and Russell Wilson has proven time and again he can handle big spots.

The Seahawks have a ton of momentum built up and will be facing a team that has been resting for two weeks.  The Falcons may have trouble matching the Seahawks intensity out of the gate.

Why the Falcons could win:

They have Roddy White and Julio Jones, arguably the best wide receiver tandem in the league.

Matt Ryan knows all the questions that arise if he loses this game.  He should be playing like his career is on the line (even though it isn't).

Who I think takes it:

Defense wins championships!  The Seahawks don't have a single weak link in theirs.

Russell Wilson just keeps getting better.  If last year's draft was held again today Wilson would be a top 5 pick.

Seahawks win the bird battle 26-24.

(#3) Houston at (#2) New England

Why the Texans could win:

Jesus loves Texas?  Good god, I don't know!

I honestly sat for 10 minutes trying to come up with a real reason the Texans could pull this out and finally just accepted the fact that they're going to need a miracle.

Why the Patriots could win:

Belichik.  Brady.  Cocksborough.  Enough said?

The Texans offense looked terribly out of sync against the Bengals and, as good as J.J. Watt is, he's not going to win this game by himself.

Arian Foster has had some good numbers, but he's also looked a little plodding and pedestrian.

Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and Foster would all have to play the game of their lives to hang with Brady & Co.

Who I think takes it:

I just don't see any way the Texans beat Tom Brady in his own backyard this weekend.  I mean, anything can happen in football, but it's going to take 3 touchdowns from J.J. Watt ot even make this close.  Patriots win 35-20

There you have it, football fans!  The march to the Super Whore continues!

As always, a big thanks to Mike for stopping by to drop some knowledge bombs.  Be sure to give him a follow on Twitter (@SwervinTaters) for more commentary this weekend.  Expect lots of pro-Moss, anti-Pack ranting and raving.

Newest Industry Presents: Flatbasset Radio - Episode #10

L, M, N, O, bitches...

Well hello again, podcast fans! Welcome to Flatbasset Radio: Episode #10!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Flatbasset Podcast, here's the story. TCDroogsma is one of our regular contributors. Specifically, he regularly contributes to our Songs Of The Week column. Since he's typically very negative regarding those tracks, we put him to work recording a weekly podcast that shows that yes, he does actually like music.

This week TCDroogsma's celebrates the episode's complete lack of structure, compares naval officers to cocaine pushers, lashes out at James Brown, names his favorite rapper/convicted sexual criminal, goes on a pretty epic rant about his hatred for David Bowie, becomes the first person in history to find comfort in Lou Barlow's voice, explains how to turn your apartment into The Herkimer, and drops a new (old) Flatbasset Flatclassic!

Click the player above to give the podcast a listen. Click the title below to download the podcast for yourself. Always free. Always, errr... tolerable.

  1. Silversun Pickups – There's No Secrets This Year
  2. Mystikal – Hit Me
  3. The Clash – Lost In The Supermarket
  4. Clipse – Virginia

If you somehow need more TCDroogsma he can be found on Twitter (@TCDroogsma). He can also be found rambling away on his personal Flatbasset blog. Just to reiterate, he believes Mystikal is better than James Brown and Lou Barlow is better than David Bowie. And somehow he's still one of our contributors.

Songs Of The Week #22: MinneSarah & TCDroogsma

The 1975, Cub Scouts, Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, & Hums...

Well hello again, MP3 junkies! Welcome to Songs Of The Week #22!

For those of you who are still new to the Songs Of The Week column, here's the story. Each week we ask two of our regular contributors to listen to the tracks given away via The Current's Song Of The Day podcast. They give them a listen and give us a review of each of the songs. As always, please clickhere and subscribe to the podcast yourself. Start 2013 out right, by signing up for free music.

Feel free to vote for your favorite track in the poll to the write of the page. The winner wins the prize of dignity via anonymous internet election. Every vote counts, people!

This week we asked MinneSarah & TCDroogsma to give us their thoughts on the four songs. As always, they have not seen each other's comments prior to posting.

So, 1982 babies, what'd ya think?

The 1975 – Sex (from the EP Sex)

MinneSarah:

Normally anything from England turns me into an obsequious Anglophile.  This song starts out good enough with some distorted guitars, upbeat drums, and full sounding vocals.  However, the lyrics are unbearably emo and every time the singer whines his defeatist chorus, "she's got a boyfriend anyway," I wanted to press stop.

But I persevered for the sake of this blog.  What I learned was that the singer is incredibly jealous of said girl's boyfriend for standing in the way of the title of this song, and this is a healthy outlet for him to express his hatred of anyone who wears skinny jeans and dates this girl (himself excluded).  What girl wouldn't fall for this level of desperation and jealousy and just give in and put out?

TCDroogsma:

Honestly, when I saw that I was going to be reviewing a song called “Sex” by something called The 1975 I had pretty high expectations. If a band is going to call a song "Sex" they're going to bring the 'A' game.

After several listens, I'm going to go ahead and admit that I was wrong. The songs tells a story about fooling around with a girl, but never actually having sex because, as we're reminded ad nauseum, “she 's got a boyfriend anyway.” Listen, The 1975, I'm not a psychoanalyst (yet), but the only reason this girl's interested in fooling around is because she has a boyfriend. Sorry, doe. Life is never kind.

I'm pretty much incapable of hating any song that's British, hooky, and filled with guitars. I'm eminently capable of hating a song with lyrics like, “We've got one thing in common, it's this tongue of mine.” Sorry, but that's just unacceptable.

Final Score: MinneSarah - 1.5/5
                   TCDroogsma - 2/5

Cub Scouts – Evie (from the EP Told You So)

MinneSarah:

Ever wonder what Of Montreal would sound like if they weren't as off the wall?  This group of youngsters from Australia does not disappoint.  This song is really pleasant and listenable, bordering on the edge of every other pop song on the Current right now, but somehow still asserting it's uniqueness.

Much like the first track this week, the song's about a girl, but The 1975, this is how it's done.  Make it about her, say nice things, and embrace her flaws. The chorus is jubilant and makes me want to dance around.  During winter, I could sure use more of this unbridled happiness and acceptance.

TCDroogsma:

This song aims straight for the pleasure center of my brain. Great hooks, a charmingly dancy riff, and a smooth delivery all add up to a thoroughly enjoyable single. Sadly, my opinion of this song hinges on the lyrical content and these Cub Scouts are making a case for having a “Cliche” badge sewn on their shirts.

“I know a girl, she's a puzzle of a thousand pieces.” Jesus Christ. Was Ben Gibbard the scout leader of this troupe? This “Evie” doesn't sound like a unique and precious woman, she sounds like every woman ever. The song ends with a lamentable plea to, “Her name forever on her lips, you'll be whipped, don't close the door, just let it in.” That, my friends, is the sound of settling.

Final Score: MinneSarah - 4/5
                   TCDroogsma – 2.5/5

Lady Lamb The Beekeeper – Rooftop (from the album Ripley Pine)

MinneSarah:

The guitar that starts this song sounds like everything right from every 90's song I've tapped my foot to.  Lady Lamb's vocals are powerful yet whimsical, which is quite refreshing.  This song is full of unpredictable sound elements, like when she sings about a table, they actually add in sounds like they are throwing flatware. However, it's actually fun.  Try and get me to say that about most folky acts.  Plus these guys are from Portland – no, the other Portland.

TCDroogsma:

Evidently 2013 is going to be yet another year of jangle-pop. Fortunately Lady Lamb The Beekeeper (really?) puts the pieces together pretty well. This one has a sneaky contagious quality that gives it some redeeming value. “If I'm the cop then you're the robber” is a pretty terrible opening line, but it does a great job of calibrating the expectations for the song.

I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not great, but it's not awful, which is a win when it comes to these Song Of The Day tracks.

Final Score: MinneSarah - 3/5
                   TCDroogsma - 2/5

Hums – Digital Winter (from the album Deep In Swim)

MinneSarah:

This song is a sweet little love song, it's very focused on the beginning of a relationship and how simple they seem to start out. The vocals are extremely Feist-like (yeah, that's an adjective now in 2013).  There are a lot of building strings in the background of this song, which gives it a lot of depth and keep it from sounding too simple. It's nice in an ephemeral sense that mirrors however long the start of a relationship could stay that pure and sweet.

TCDroogsma:

“Digital Winter” makes me regret making all those “Land Of 10,000 Synth-Pop Bands” jokes. I didn't realize that the other option was whimsical indie folk songs with wonky vocals (cough... Southwire... cough).

Hums sounds like they're doing their best to fill the “flawed-but-endearing singer backed by a bunch of non-threatening folkies” niche left behind by Roma Di Luna. I suppose someone has to do it. I'm sure they'll put on a hell o f a show when they play Music & Movies In The Park before a screening of The Royal Tenenbaums.

Final Score: MinneSarah - 2.5/5
                   TCDroogsma – 2/5

Well there you have it, everybody, another week of songs downloaded, reviewed, and filed away!

Ten & Six With Mike Otto: Wild Card Weekend - Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (Plus Picks!)

A frostbit fist with a smile stings twice...

Well here are again, football fans!  Welcome to the Wild Card Weekend edition of Ten & Six with Mike Otto!

Not only is Mike back to break down this weekend's playoff matchups, but he brought the Vikings with him!  That's right, America!  The Purple in the playoffs!  Only one pigskin pundit that we know of predicted a 10-6 finish for the Vikings this year and, fortunately, he's our resident football guru!  Que suerte!

So, Michael, now that we've spent 17 weeks establishing the fact that you are, indeed, a great football mind, how do you think this weekend shakes out?

Well helllllo!  I was right all year!

Even four weeks ago when Christian Ponder looked pathetic, the team was 6-6, and all playoff hope seemed extinguished, I still believed.  I knew this team could do it, I felt it in my bones and I kept predicting wins and here we are!

It's the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the Vikings are 10-6, and this is Ten & Six!

My picks went 11-5 last week and I'll take that as a decent end to the regular season.  (Editor's Note: Mike's final record for the regular season was 174-100-1.  Pretty spiffy.)

I got the most important pick (at least to me) correct, the Vikings are in the playoffs and earned a rematch against the Packers at Lambeau.  It really doesn't get any sweeter.  Even if the Vikings season comes to an end on Sunday, it's already been the most fun I've had with The Purple since '09.  Good times, indeed.

Since we've entered the playoffs I'm going to re-format how I do the League Picks part of the blog by getting a little more in-depth.  I will give reasons each team could win and then tell you who I think takes the game in the end.

As always, once all that garbage is out of the way I will break down the Vikings chances with the in-depth analysis and sharp wit you have all come to know & love.  With that said, let's get into some game picks!

(#6) Cincinnati at (#3) Houston

Why the Bengals could win:

The Bengals Front 7 have been physically dominant all year, but have somehow found another gear the last four weeks.  Couple that with the fact that Houston is slumping at the wrong time and you have the potential for an upset here.

Cincy must hit on a couple big plays to A.J. Green, make the Texans respect the deep threat (and keep a safety deep).

The Texans seem to have a little quit in them.  Get a 10- or 14-point lead early and Houston might get down on themselves.

Why the Texans could win:

They're at home and they've won the last three match-ups against the Bengals.
The Texans offense and stable of weapons is much more dangerous, with more than one player who is a threat to take it the distance at any time.

The Bengals run defense is only ranked 18th overall, so Arian Foster might have a shot to break the big one.  If Matt Schaub gets hot this one's over.

Who I think wins:

I see a close game going into the 4th quarter won by the Bengals after they intercept a Matt Schaub pass deep in Texans territory allowing A.J. Green to win a jump ball in the end zone.  Ball game! Bengals take it.

Final Score:
Cincinnati: 24
Houston: 23

(#5) Indianapolis at (#4) Baltimore

Why the Colts could win:

It's been an inspirational year for the Colts.  They rode the strength and courage Chuck Pagano showed battling cancer to a playoff berth (with a little help from rookie quarterback Andy Lucky).

Also worth noting, Luck led an NFL-best seven 4th quarter game-winning drives this year, so if it's close in the end, watch out for the rookie.

Why the Ravens could win:

The defense will have Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed playing together for the first time since Lewis tore his triceps.  Add on that Ray announced he would retire and the end of the year and you can bet the Ravens are going to be jacked up.

The Ravens are a deeper team on both offense and defense, and that could make it tough for the Colts.

Who I think wins:

I see Andrew Luck having a rough game.  I think he gets hit early and often, which leads to hurried throws and interceptions later in the game.

The Colts keep it close for a half, but fade away in the 3rd & 4th quarters.

Final Score:
Baltimore: 27
Indianapolis: 17

(#5) Seattle at (#4) Washington

Why the Seahawks could win:

The Seahawks have won four straight, including three blowout victories.

Russell Wilson has defied logic in his successful rookie season, handling big moments with poise.

Pete Carroll may be a pain in my ass, but he knows how to get the most out of his players.

Why the Redskins could win:

The Seahawks have been below average on the road this year, notching a 3-5 record.

The Redskins have my Rookie Of The Year pick in Bob III, who is a threat to score a touchdown on every play.  Bob's been in the national spotlight all year already, it's unlikely he'll be fazed by playoff implications.

Pierre Garcon has been a monster since his return from injury and I'm seeing a big game for him.

Who I think wins:

These two teams are very evenly matched.  Both have solid running games and have shown the ability to convert key downs with the pass when necessary.

I would say the Skins are a better offensive team only because Bob III is a true "dual-threat" quarterback.  The Seahawks, however, have a superior defense.

I see this being a great back-and-forth battle won on a last second field goal by the Redskins.

Final Score:
Washington: 27
Seattle: 24

And now, without further ado...

(#6) MINNESOTA VIKINGS at (#3) GREEN BAY PACKERS

It's the rubber match!  The Vikings lost at Lambeau but won last week at The Dome, sweet, Dome.

Christian Ponder played his best game since the victory over the 49ers earlier in the season and Adrian Peterson capped off the best season by a running back since 1984 with 199 yards on the ground.

Anyone who thinks the Vikings can't win this game is delusional.

I love it!  Packers fans were dismissive of our squad last week and they're doing more of the same this week.  Let's hope Packers players are just as stupid as their fan base.  There would be nothing better than seeing a bunch of mopey, drunk, fat Packers fans come 10:30 Saturday night.  I'd be sleeping like a baby that night!

So go ahead!  Doubt us!  We beat you to get to this point you filthy animals and, after Saturday, all you idiot Packers fans are going to have to go back to your other two pastimes: day drinking and touching your cousins inappropriately.

Let's look at some positives and negatives from last week.  As always, we'll start with the positives:

-Adrian Peterson  It's been him all year and last week was no different.  The man was possessed last week!  It could have been the 2001 Ravens defense opposite Peterson last week and he still would have torn them apart.  The Packers keyed on him all week in preparation, but it didn't matter, he torched them anyway.

Clay Matthews promised AP, "won't get 200 yards this week at Lambeau."  That's like saying, "Albert Pujols won't hit two grand slams against us."  Starting to think Packers players are just as dumb as their fans.  Way to shoot for the stars, Claymaker!

-Christian Ponder  Was that Christian Ponder connecting on a perfectly thrown deep ball!  Oh my god!  It only took until Week 17!

In all honesty, the kid played a great game.  He was poised, took care of the ball, and made big completions when he needed them.  If Ponder had played 16 games like that the Viking would have a playoff bye and home-field advantage throughout.

Oh well, he's peaking at the right time!  The right elbow issue that has limited him in practice is slightly concerning, but I have no doubt he'll play.  Shoot him up with cortisone and get him out there!

-Everson Griffen  Three sacks last week and looked unblockable at times.  This guy may be a late bloomer, but I could care less as long as he keeps blooming this week!  On a down day overall for the defense he was a force for 4 quarters.

-Brian Robison  He was playing with a badly sprained shoulder, but it didn't matter!  His strip-sack of Aaron Rodgers was, in my opinion, the play of the game.  Packers were driving to take the lead, had all the momentum, and the BOOM!  Little Aaron Rodgers held the ball too long and the rest is history.

And, sadly, the negatives.

-Tackling & Angles  I think the defense was a little too excited in this game.  They were taking bad angles, missing tackles, and it hurt us badly.

In the Texans game there always seemed to be a meeting at the football by the defense.  Lots of gang-tackling and they kept the Texans out of the end zone with that formula.  Against the Packers there was no gang-tackling and everything seemed more difficult for our boys in Purple.

It wasn't only the defense.  Special teams had some tackling issues we hadn't seen all season.  This needs to improve if the Vikings are to win at Lambeau.

Three Keys To A Vikings Victory

Key #1: D-Line, get your hands up!

Kevin Williams has a pass deflection in each of the last 4 games and Brian Robison has 8 on the year.  At the very least, a pass deflection at the line wastes a down for the Packers.  At most, it turns into a tip drill interception for someone on the back end.  Last time I checked, in football, interceptions are good!

Key #2: Go after Sam Shields

He got burned by Jarius Wright for that 65 yard completion when he totally bit on a dagger route (that wasn't even crisply run).  Not only was he torched on that deep ball, but looking back at the game I noticed he left his man open several other times that Ponder didn't recognize.

If I can see that I know Bill Musgrave can too.  So let's go after that fucking dolt and see if he's worth his paychecks.

Key #3: Run right at Clay Matthews

As threatening a pass rusher as Clay Matthews is, he's equally unspectacular at getting off his block and making a tackle.  Adrian Peterson has destroyed the Packers in two games this year with 409 yards and 3 TD's.  I haven't seen any Packers defenders truly commit to tackling AP.  It's been all arm tackles, hoping to hold him up long enough for help to arrive.  This includes Clay Matthews.
It'll be interesting to see if any Packers defenders have developed the courage to attempt to tackle AP like a man.

Two Matchups To Watch

Matchup #1: Mike McCarthy vs. The Tiny Dinosaur Brain He Was Born With

Stupid challenges!  Wasted timeouts!  That fucking lazy eye of his!  Freaking Jordy Nelson had to hide the challenge flag that McCarthy illegally threw and the refs bailed him out.  Seriously though, how embarrassing is it when Jordy Nelson is more aware of the current situation than your head coach?

Mike McCarthy is the perfect fat, dopey embodiment of the Packer faithfulNo wonder you all stand staunchly behind him, defending his intelligence after every bird-brained mistake.  You are him.  He is you.  You're all fucked.

Matchup #2: Any Mouthy Packers Fans vs. Me

I actually get to watch this game!  Got the day off from work and I'm pumped for this shit!
Now, I'm going to be watching the game at a fine local establishment (Rudolphs BBQ) and even though that bar bleeds purple, there are bound to be a few loud-mouth Packers fans (there always is).

I rarely get into physical altercations, but when I do, it's usually football related.  Much like my favorite team, I often lose my fights, but don't forget, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, and sometimes he knees a Packer fan in the head.

Mike's All-Purpose Flour Lock Of The Week

Harrison Smith, Kevin Williams, Antoine Winfield, Chris Cook, Jared Allen, Chad Greenway, the ENTIRE Vikings defense!

I'm seeing a big day from this unit and a much improved performance from last week.  4 sacks, 12 hits on the QB, 3 pass deflections, and pick and a forced fumble!  You guys got this!

Final Takes

Don't get me wrong, this is going to be a difficult game to win.  Jennings, Nelson, Jones, and Cobb are all slated to play.  Add in (Jer)Michael Finley and that's a lot to keep track of.

Good punts and punt coverage will be important.  The Vikings can't afford to let Cobb get loose for an easy return.  Hopefully The Purple aren't punting much anyway.

Against the Texans and Packers Christian Ponder is 16-23 on 3rd down conversions.  That's damn efficient!  That's professional quarterback football!  That's the guy the Vikings are going to need on Saturday.

The Packers simply cannot stop Adrian Peterson.  If he has another big day the Vikings are in this game until the very end.  The Packers are 2-4 in their last 6 HOME playoff games (Rodgers is 0-1 as a starter).  The Pack lost their first home playoff game last year to the eventual Super Bowl Champion New York Giants.  Perhaps history will repeat itself this year!

Don't be surprised if you see the Vikings try a trick play at some point in this game.  Maybe a flea-flicker that every Packer defender bites on as soon as AP touches the ball.  Next thing they know Jarius Wright is dancing in the end zone.

Everyone doubts the Vikings.  Everyone always has.  They have the right to.  Not me, though.  Maybe I'm crazy, maybe I've had too much Purple Kool-Ade in my days, I really don't care.  This is going to be a close game in the 4th with the Vikings nursing a "surprising" lead.  I see the potential game tying/winning drive by the Packers snuffed out  by our defense right around midfield because, I mean, it couldn't be a stress-free victory, right?

Final Score:
Minnesota: 27
Green Bay: 24

WOOOOOO!!! Atlanta here we come!!

Boy, oh boy!  This is gonna be great!

Newest Industry Presents: Flatbasset Radio - Episode #9 (Best Of 2012 Countdown!)

Threat Level: Orange Juice...

Well hello again, music fans! Welcome to Episode #9 of our weekly Flatbasset Podcast!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the podcast, here's the story. Each week TCDroogsma participates in our Songs Of The Week column. Since he's typically kind of a jerk in that column we asked him if he'd like to put together a weekly podcast to prove that he actually does like music and, on occasion, has interesting things to say about it. Foolishly, we also asked him to wish our readers a Happy New Year. So now this exists:

Since this is the first week of the New Year we asked TCDroogsma to put together a Top 10 list of his favorite 2012 albums. Not only did he do that, but he also scolds children, explains a theory about British discographies, explains why Chris Martin put Coldplay on hiatus, actually says, “Nobody does Bloc Party quite like Bloc Party,” (which is arguably the dumbest sentence this blog has been affiliated with), and wishes everybody a happy new year!
